Pure indium foil / thin sheets that can be used as gasket material or thermal interface material (TIM) for the best conductivity in a solid, mess-free, fully recyclable form.
A premium alternative to thermal paste, indium sheet provides extremely high thermal conductivity for mounting LED's and other semiconductors to heat sinks. Indium has a melting point of 156°C.
Indium is also widely used in hermetic seal applications as it maintains its buttery structure in cryogenic temperatures and provides a superior vacuum seal thanks to its inherent ability to wet glass and ceramics. Caution should be taken when indium is in contact with other metals as unintended alloys can form.
We have a fast turnaround time for custom indium sheet orders - to get started, open a live chat or send us an email, and we will quote. Order production minimums apply (typically 100-500 sheets starting quantities for custom sizes). CNC shape cutting / die stamping available.
0.1mm thickness is a good overall thickness to work with, so it is not too thick, yet not too thin that it rips easily during application. 0.05mm thickness is available for the thinnest of interfaces. 0.075mm thickness is a good compromise for faster heat transfer on smooth surfaces.
Recommended application: Clean indium mating surface with 5% HCl solution immediately prior to application. Ensure no air pockets during application. Indium sheet does not glue the heat sink to the module - the parts must be compressed via mechanical means to 75 - 130 psi for optimal heat transfer and full bond.
